Heated Driveways & Walkways

Diclementi Landscaping offers custom heated driveway and walkway solutions designed to provide safety, convenience, and peace of mind during the winter months. These systems are professionally installed beneath driveways and walkways to automatically melt snow and ice, reducing the need for shoveling, plowing, and excessive salt use.

Heated surfaces help prevent ice buildup, improve traction, and protect hardscape materials from damage caused by freezing and thawing. Ideal for residential properties, commercial entrances, and high-traffic areas, heated driveways and walkways ensure safe, accessible surfaces throughout the winter season.

Our team carefully integrates these systems into new or existing hardscape projects, including bluestone, flagstone, and paver installations. Every system is designed with precision, durability, and long-term performance in mind—while respecting the surrounding landscape and environment.

Our Process

Our heated driveway systems are carefully planned and professionally installed to ensure long-term performance, safety, and durability. Whether integrated into a concrete or paved surface, each project follows a proven process.

1. Site Evaluation & Planning

We begin with a detailed assessment of the driveway area, drainage, slope, power requirements, and usage needs. This allows us to design a heated system that is properly sized and efficiently positioned for optimal snow and ice melting.

2. Excavation & Base Preparation

The existing surface is removed, and the driveway is excavated to the required depth. A compacted gravel base is installed to provide proper drainage, structural stability, and long-lasting support for the heated system.

3. Heating System Installation

Hydronic tubing is precisely laid over the prepared base according to the engineered layout. The system is secured and tested to ensure consistent coverage and reliable operation across the entire driveway and walkway surface.

4. Concrete or Paver Installation

Once the heating system is in place, the final surface is installed:

  • Concrete Driveways: Concrete is poured directly over the heating system, finished to specification, and allowed to properly cure.

  • Paver Driveways: A Brick layer of pavers are added on top of the heated concrete base.

5. System Testing & Activation

After installation, the heating system is thoroughly tested to confirm functionality and efficiency. Controls are set up for manual or automatic operation based on weather conditions and client preference.

6. Final Inspection & Completion

We complete a final inspection to ensure the driveway is structurally sound, visually finished, and fully operational. The result is a durable, low-maintenance heated surface designed to perform reliably throughout the winter season.
